The Emerald Necklace is a string of waterways and parkways in Boston and Brookline for people to visit and enjoy. is a 1200-acre collection of brownfield properties in Milwaukee. The National Decentralized Water Resources Capacity Development Project is a cooperative effort funded by the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency which supports research and development of onsite/decentralized wastewater treatment. Philadelphia Water Department operates three award-winning water pollution control plants. These plants remove approximately 92% of wastewater pollutants before the water is returned to the Delaware and Schuylkill Rivers. Here is a link to the Resource Guide for Sustainable Development which was developed by Urban Environmental Institute and sponsored by Vulcan Inc.
